Tck Tck Tap…What’s That Noise? It’s the Guy Tweeting Next to Me
As I embarked on my first (and hopefully not my last) SXSW Interactive conference I knew that I would be surrounded by techno geeks from all over the country. Don’t be offended, I mean that in the most loving way possible and I count myself among them. It seemed in a way that I was headed for “nerd spring break”. It wasn’t until I arrived in my first session that I noticed something. Among the voices of the well-qualified and sometimes celebrity panel speakers was a near constant ticking and tapping sound. Over just the last few weeks, location-based social networks have created some incredible opportunities for both consumer brands and non-profits. Getting excited yet?

One of the best examples I’ve seen of the latter is a recent effort by Hulu.
